New Shows: “Deception”,” Up Close” and “Solo Stand -Up”
Award winning illusionist Car Michael is joining the Carolina Comedy Club for an all new experience for 2015. “Deception” is a Las Vegas style show that features family friendly comedy, romance, magic and mystery. Michael and his assistants will present a 60-90 minute act that will be sure to please audience members of all ages. “Up Close” is filled with sleight of hand artistry, amazing magic and incorporates cards, coins and props into a show where the unreal can truly become reality. “Solo Stand-Up” is a mentalism and magic act that is appropriate for all ages. Included is Houdini’s straight jacket escape performed with a new twist.
New North Side Shopping
North Myrtle Beach continues its retail growth this year with the continued expansion of the Coastal North Shopping Center which broke ground last October. Dick’s Sporting Goods as well as Publix are two of the biggest anchors at the shopping complex. There are also ten restaurants, salons, a vision center, boutiques and other smaller retailers.
Gander Mountain
Gander Mountain is coming to the Carolina Forest community this year. Gander Mountain caters to outdoor enthusiasts carrying a wide variety of products relating to fishing, camping and hunting. The retailer will also feature a large selection of both used and new firearms. Customers can shop firearm inventory of other Gander Mountain stores, regardless of location, at the new Carolina Forest store. The new store will be located in the 45,000 square foot structure adjacent to Tanger Outlets on U.S. 501 South on Factory Stores Blvd.
New Winery: DUPLIN WINERY
North Myrtle beach will boast a new winery this year. Duplin Winery, a North Carolina based winery, is projected to open this year, next to Alligator Adventure on U.S. 17 in North Myrtle Beach close to Barefoot Landing.
The original winery in North Carolina, receives over 100,000 visitors a year. This winery is highly anticipated as a possible destination attraction for North Myrtle Beach. This is good news for the tourism industry and other retailers in the area.
New Family Fun: GO APE TREETOP ADVENTURES
Have you ever wished you could swing through the jungle like Tarzan? Soon you’ll be able to at Go Ape Treetop Adventures, one of the new Myrtle Beach Attractions for 2015, located in the new North Myrtle Beach park and Sports Complex. The new attraction includes rope ladders, Tarzan swings and five zip lines; including on that cuts across a lake and is close to 1000 feet long. The complex sits on 6 acres and takes about two to three hours to experience.
Go Ape has 6 other rope courses across the country, with locations in the Midwest and Northeast. Children age 10 and older will be able to experience this attraction as long as they meet the 4 foot 7 inch height requirement. Adults cannot weight more than 285 pounds. This is a fun attraction for families and individuals of all ages.
The company has plans to complete a treetop junior course for kids ages 4 to 12 in the near future.
The recently constructed North Myrtle Beach Park and Sports Complex has increasingly become a destination attraction. In addition to the new Go Ape Treetop Adventure, the complex will be hosting many tournaments and sporting events that will be bringing visitors to the area from all across the country. In addition to the new adventure ropes course the complex includes:
- 4 regulation youth baseball/collegiate softball fields
- 2 regulation high school/collegiate baseball fields (can be transformed to regulation youth baseball and collegiate softball fields)
- 8 regulation soccer/lacrosse fields
- 8 batting tunnels
