Ray and Ricki Barger, along with their two sons, have lived in the foothills of North Carolina for 25 years. The Bargers have loved living so close to the beautiful mountains, but always knew that someday their goal was to have a second home by the ocean.
For Ricki and Ray there is no other experience that can compare to sitting on the balcony with a cup of coffee and watching the sun rise or set. A place where the stress of life melts away and spirituality and nature are close at hand.
“Since Ray and I first married 32 years ago we had a dream of having a place at the beach…and not just at the beach but on the ocean.”
Ricki’s childhood holidays were spent along the North Carolina coast, and after she married Ray and began raising her sons, they started vacationing in Myrtle Beach.
“I was hesitant at first to give up the peace and quiet and the familiarity of the North Carolina coast, but quickly fell in love with the South Carolina beaches; especially North Myrtle Beach. We’ve been vacationing there for 15 years now.”
As the Bargers spent more time in the Myrtle Beach area, North Myrtle Beach became the obvious choice for them when they started seriously considering purchasing a vacation home. The amount of inventory on the market, coupled by the great values to be had, allowed them to see the possibility that their dream of owning an ocean front vacation home could become a reality. The first condo they purchased was only a three bedroom, and as they looked to the future they decided to upgrade to a four bedroom property. When they began the process of searching for the second condo, they again called upon Deborah.
“Working with Dreamlife Realty and Deborah was a dream come true. We Never realized it could be so painless because we had a realtor who over the last four years has become a dear friend. She sold us both condos and I felt she was not going to stop until she found us the most perfect place ever…and she did. She has also recommended every trusted resource I’ve used since having a place at the beach…bankers, lawyers, inspectors, handymen, housekeepers…everyone I trust to their core and feel so confident in every transaction. Most importantly, I know if I ever need anything…Deborah and Mike would drop everything to come help. I always knew how important a good realtor was to the buying and selling process but never knew how much a part of your life they become when they cross the line from realtor to dear friend.”
For the Bargers, building a “dream life” is about family being together. As the years pass, Ray and Ricki hope to share many memories with their family in their new home. “This is where I want the most precious memories to be made,” Ricki says. “To have a special place where everyone can come, take a deep breath and decompress…to just enjoy being together, that’s the greatest gift of all.”
Here at Dreamlife Realty, we help our clients find their own ‘dream lives’ in whatever capacity this means to them. We strive to listen, become their biggest advocates and help them find a home that will allow family legacies and traditions to be established. At the end of every transaction we hope that our own ‘Dreamlifers’ will have taken that first important step to realizing their dreams for the future, and nothing makes us happier than sharing stories of families like the Bargers. Ultimately, our Dreamlifers are the most eloquent spokespersons for what living the Dreamlife truly means, and we couldn’t say it any better than Ricki Barger, who so beautifully put into words what living the “dream life” means to her.
“I’m truly “living the dream.” Everyone has to make their own decision of how they choose to spend their free time while they’re working and how they spend their retirement. For me, I feel I have the best of all nature has to offer. A wonderful primary residence close to the Blue Ridge Parkway and a home away from home at Ocean Drive. I couldn’t be happier with my life, couldn’t feel more blessed and am so thankful to the good Lord above that he’s given us the opportunity to enjoy paradise and share it with our most treasured loved ones. Life is truly good and we are truly blessed.”
Thank you, Barger Family, for letting us be a part of your dream life.
