The family vacations of childhood often become cherished memories that pass through the generations. For Dreamlifer Linda Bouvette, holidays to Myrtle Beach with her parents began when she was three years old.
Year after year she would make the family journey from West Virginia, where she still resides, to the Myrtle Beach area.
Her memories of those early vacations include a much quainter version of Boulineaus, a front porch on VJ’s motel where she often sat with her father and the close group of family friends that coordinated their yearly holidays together.
“We would invite all our friends to go to the beach at the same time each year, with each of us getting individual units. We stayed a number of years at VJ’s Motel because my dad loved the porch..”
From One Generation to the Next
As Linda grew and become a mother herself she continued the tradition of the Myrtle Beach summer trip with her own daughter. The Lemon Tree house was the family’s favorite accommodation in those days because of its proximity to the pier. Linda and her daughter often rambled along the pier in the evenings to watch the fishermen bring in their catches, and never failed to visit Rossi’s at least once during every trip.
Because Myrtle Beach is a huge part of Linda’s life, she eventually came to the conclusion that she wanted to purchase her own vacation home along the shore. Right from the beginning she had a good idea of what she wanted…after all, Linda knew the area well.
My family and I wanted to stay in Cherry Grove. Sea Cabin fit all of my wants and needs, plus it had the fishing pier that my brother and nephews could enjoy.”
Making the “Dreamlife” a Reality
Living the “dream life” means many different things to different people. For Linda, it’s about a legacy that has always been a huge part of her life. Knowing that she has a home of her own in a place that holds so many family memories is like preserving a piece of the past forever.
“It’s nice to know I can come down when I want. While vacation time is limited right now I can look forward to longer visits when I retire.”
Creating New Memories
As the years go on the Bouvette family tradition in Myrtle Beach will continue to thrive. Linda plans to create many new memories in her new home, with family as well as numerous friends…just like she did as a child.
“My daughter and I and my brother and his family will enjoy the condo for many years. In addition I have a number of friends and family that will have access to the condo for their own trips to the beach.”
For Linda, buying a vacation home in Cherry Grove was a natural progression. She worked with Dreamlife agent Deborah Rhyne who made the whole process smooth and worry free,
“I spent a lot of time online looking at units. I had already determined the criteria for my search and limited it to those items. I enjoyed working with Deborah – she made the process very simple and easy.”
It’s never too late to create a legacy for your family. Life moves fast and having a place to relax together is the best way to build memories that will last a lifetime.
