Flipkey.com, a popular travel blog run by the well known Tripadvisor brand, has named Myrtle Beach its top fall travel destination.
In the report, Flipkey names its top five travel destinations to visit during the ‘shoulder season’. The shoulder season is the time between high and low travel periods and historically is when travelers can save the most money on vacation rentals.
Flipkey based the list on the nightly price of vacation rentals during the shoulder season period and ranked travel destinations from this data, as well as from factors such as weather, and crowd levels. The shoulder season covers the months of September, October and November. Myrtle Beach came in at the top of the list, which is good news for travelers who still want to take advantage of the great weather along the Grand Strand, while saving money on superb vacation rentals.
“Myrtle Beach is our number one pick for shoulder season travel this fall, where you’re still looking at temperatures in the low 80s during September, which is plenty warm for sun, sand and beach activities,” said Eric Horndahl, FlipKey’s Vice President of Marketing. “Prices begin to plummet after Labor Day and not only can you find great deals during the shoulder season, but the amount of vacationers is substantially less. You might end up having the beach all to yourself.”
Many deals and specials for fall travel have already been released. These include hotel, resort and vacation home rentals.
